The 31st Republican Festival of Drama Theatres of Kazakhstan, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of theatre critic and Professor Bagibek Kundakbayev, was held in Kyzylorda.
The Makhambet Academic Kazakh Drama Theatre of Atyrau Region, which took part in the festival, won the “Best Acting Ensemble” award and received a cash prize of 1 million tenge.
As part of the festival programme, on October 23 the Makhambet Theatre presented A.V. Sukhovo-Kobylin’s tragic farce “Case No. 20/25” to the audience.
The production, which explores social injustice and human destiny, impressed audiences with its thought-provoking theme, sincere and well-coordinated acting, and distinctive stage solutions. The performance also received high praise from the festival jury, who particularly highlighted the professional excellence of the creative team.
Bringing together theatre companies from different regions of Kazakhstan, the Republican Festival not only provided a platform for presenting new productions, but also created opportunities for theatre professionals to exchange experience, strengthen creative ties, and explore new artistic directions.
This achievement of the Makhambet Theatre at the national level is a remarkable result of the team’s joint efforts and professional excellence.
We congratulate the creative team of the Makhambet Academic Kazakh Drama Theatre on winning the “Best Acting Ensemble” award!
May your artistic journey continue to bring new discoveries, outstanding achievements, and great success!
