The 2nd in-house theater festival held at our theater has come to an end. As part of the event, specially invited theater critics watched eight performances and provided professional evaluations of each production.
Over several days, the festival offered a comprehensive review of the troupe’s creative exploration, directing approaches, and acting skills. Critics highlighted the artistic quality of the performances, stage culture, and relevance of the themes, while also sharing thoughtful feedback and practical recommendations.
In addition, lecture sessions were organized within the festival program. Meetings with theater professionals and actors covered topics such as “Current Trends in the Development of World Theater” and “The Evolution of Theater Festivals in Kazakhstan.” These sessions helped broaden creative perspectives and encouraged professional exchange.
The festival once again proved that it is not only a platform for creative competition but also an important stage for artistic growth and experience sharing.
Thus, the 2nd in-house theater festival concluded successfully, becoming a bright milestone of the creative season and setting a course toward new achievements.

On December 10, the long-awaited premiere of the dramatic performance “Broken Hope” took place and became a notable cultural event, drawing great interest from the audience. With its deep psychological content, the production made a strong impression and was warmly received by viewers.
Through the fate of Tolqyn, who dreamed of becoming a mother, the play reveals the subtle emotional world of a woman, exploring themes of betrayal and shattered trust. The blow delivered not only by her husband but also by her closest friend left the audience deeply moved and prompted reflection on moral values and genuine feelings.
The director’s vision by Akylbek Khamitov gave the performance profound dramatic depth, while the stage design by Aidana Zhanbyrbay enhanced the emotional atmosphere of the production. Each scene brought the audience closer to the inner world of the characters and intensified the emotional impact.
The actors in the leading roles demonstrated a high level of professional skill and earned sincere applause from the audience. The performances by Altyngul Edilbay (Tolqyn), Darina Marat (Azhar), Rakhman Gabituly (Bolat), and Bekassyl Armanuly (Doctor) fully conveyed the core message of the play.
The premiere of “Broken Hope” became a meaningful event that encourages audiences to reflect deeply on fate, trust, and lost hope.

On August 26 at 7:00 PM, the Academic Kazakh Drama Theater named after Makhambet will officially open its 88th theatrical season. As part of the opening, the audience will be presented with the play “Qyr Balasy”.
The performance is dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Tabyldy Dosymov, a Kazakh bard with a warm, soulful voice and a lyrical composer. Guests will enjoy an evening filled with poetry, music, warmth, and heartfelt emotions.

The results of the I intra-theater festival “Uzdik-2025” were summed up as part of the International Theater Day on March 27
On March 24-26, the first intra-theater festival” Uzdik-2025 ” was organized, in which 3 performances took part, and prizes were awarded in 6 categories. The festival was attended by A. Rakhat’s drama “kyr Bala”, M. Auezov’s tragedy “day of the defenseless” and B. Sarybay’s performance “Big Love in a small village”. Theater critics from Almaty came to review the festival’s performances. They are: Professor of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T. Zhurgenov, doctor of art history Nurpeis Bakhyt Kakievna and theater scholar Tanirbergen Embergenov.
On March 27, on the International Theater day, a solemn award party was held. At the evening, the head of the Department of Culture and language development Abil Zholamanov congratulated the theater staff and actors with letters of thanks from the Akim of Atyrau region and the Department of Culture. A number of theater workers, veterans were presented with badges of the Council of Veterans and letters of thanks from the trade union organization, as well as special gifts appointed by the theater institution. According to the 87th season, the “best actor of the year” was determined – Gaziz Sorappayev and “Best Actress” – Tursyngul Amangalieva.
In addition, within the framework of the theater day event, the results of the I intra-theater festival “Uzdik-2025” were summed up and prize-winning nominations were awarded. In particular, the Nomination” Best Ensemble “was awarded for the tragedy” day of the defenseless ” by M. Auezov.
The nomination” new name “was awarded to Nurbek Omar for the role of” Bala “in the production of” Big Love in a small village ” by B. Sarybay. Also, the Nomination “Best Supporting Actor” was awarded to Raiymbek Kaden for the role of “Bala zhurek” in the drama “kyr Bala” by A. Rakhat, “Best Supporting Actress”-to Shynar Ramazanova for the role of “bride” in the production of “Big Love in a small village” by B. Sarybay, and the Nomination “Best Actor” – to Bakhytzhan Utegaliyev for the role of “Masa” in the drama “kyr Bala” by A. Rakhat and the Nomination “Best Actress” in the tragedy “day of the defenseless” by M. Auezov for the role of “grandmother” was awarded to Gaziza bisenova.
The festive evening dedicated to the day of the theater was filled with songs and songs, awards, and was celebrated at a high level.
