On March 27, Atyrau Regional Academic Kazakh drama theater named after Makhambet hosted a solemn evening dedicated to the International Theater Day. The evening, which brought together theatergoers and art lovers, was remembered for its rich program and special atmosphere.
International Theater Day was established in 1961 on the initiative of the International Theater Institute. Since then, this day has become a professional holiday for theater workers around the world and is celebrated as a special date that emphasizes the importance of art.
As part of the solemn evening, a number of employees of the theater team were awarded. The best employees were also honored by the Akim of Atyrau region, the Department of Culture and language development and the branch trade union organization.
During the evening, the achievements of the theater in the 88th season were also noted. Last season, the team took part in international and national festivals and took prizes. This is an important indicator of the high level of professionalism of the theater.
Also, the results of the traditional regional festival of folk theaters “genuine Curtain” were announced, and folk theaters in the region were awarded. This year, the festival was marked by performances that covered topical issues of society.
At the festive evening, the partners of the theater and the institutions that support art were also awarded with letters of thanks.
An important culmination of the evening was the results of the II intra– theater festival “UZDIK 2026”. Within the framework of the festival, the best in various categories were determined, and the main award was awarded – “Best Actor” and “Best Actress”.
The theatrical holiday became a common joy for all participants and once again proved that art is an eternal value.
